Gravitate HR Go Ape!

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Following Sarah and Jennifer’s sunny days out with clients, we decided we should have an away day. Heather recommended Go Ape - so we made all the arrangements and headed off to Aberfoyle, on Friday 10th October. Even the rain and mist did not dampen our spirits and as the mini made it’s way north and west - the rain got heavier and the anticipation grew.

Now that we are back safely I can tell you that it was fantastic. It is very exhilarating and is a great team building event. We got very very wet as you can see from the photos!

This is Jennifer arriving on the zip wire!

Seebyte Company Awayday – Elie Watersports

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Both Jennifer and myself were invited along to join the team at Seebyte for a fun filled day out at Elie Watersports Centre. Summer arrived in Elie when we did, the weather was hot and sunny all day which resulted in quite a few pink faces by the end of the days activities. Everyone had the chance to go Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking/canoeing, have a ride on the banana boat and the ringos and I got a wakeboard tow at the end of the day which was great.

Jennifer ventured out to sea on a Pico for the first time but didn’t sail off into the sunset and decided to come back for supper. Margery joined us in the evening for drinks in the sun and then supper at the Ship Inn on the waterfront in Elie, which was a perfect way to end the day.

Miguel was the official photographer for the afternoon and got some fun action shots.

Race for Life Update

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

image

Margery, Heather and Sarah have now completed their races with Heather coming in the fastest time of 33 minutes. All three really enjoyed the experience and are proud of the £1.5K that they have collectively raised for Cancer Research. The business also sponsored a client in the Moon Walk, who successfully completed the through the night adventure in 6.5 hours. It is great to take part in these events and to give to such deserving causes.

VONQ – Recruiting using Job Boards – Cost Effectively

Monday, April 7th, 2008

clip_image001[1]

I recently came across information from a company called VONQ and thought their concept is very good for small to medium sized recruiting businesses, that do not have huge recruitment budgets. Posting your own advert on a job board is generally cheaper than going through an agency and having to pay agency fees. Rather than posting your advert on one Job site, VONQ offers discount packages which allow you to advertise on 4 or more job boards (under your company name and branding) for what appears to be a reasonable cost. Therefore when you are considering placing an advert on a job board it may be worth looking at the packages VONQ offer.

How they work:

  • VONQ post your vacancy to a combination of the best job sites tailored to the role
  • VONQ post your vacancy under your name (or the client’s) or branding
  • VONQ will review / filter every CV and only forward those that meet your requirements
  • You only pay for the vacancy advertising. (No recruitment fees or other costs)

For further information have a look on their company website www.vonq.co.uk

… and let me know if you think this would work for your business or contact me if you want more information on this or any other recruitment queries.
