Making #goodpr from social media

Our first lunchtime seminar of 2012

This seminar will explore the business benefits of social media but also look at the pitfalls and show how you can stay in control of the message and avoid #badPR.

From Twitter and Facebook to LinkedIn and YouTube there are a myriad social media channels for you to engage with your customers. Gone are the days when the only person who spoke to the press was the MD, now every member of staff is a company spokesperson, with hundreds of opportunities to broadcast your message every day

Be clear on the message

But are they broadcasting the company message or their version of the message?
Social media enables companies to communicate across the ether easily and in real time. Coupled with that, customers expect organisations to be open and highly responsive on every channel, often 24/7.

Social media has transformed the way we communicate with our customers forever and when used well, can be extremely powerful.

Your reputation

Managing the message is incredibly important as bad news spreads just as fast (often faster) as good news. Anything negative will inevitably impact on your corporate reputation and influence perceptions of your business, your team and you as a leader.
It is vital that you take steps to safeguard your reputation now that social media is ‘live and on air’.

This seminar will answer the questions:

  • Why is social media important to small businesses?
  • Can you ignore social media?
  • How do you leverage the power of social media?
  • How do you make sure your staff stay ‘on message’?
  • How do you avoid damaging your reputation?

Who is the session for?

Presented by Sarah Lee of Hot Tin Roof and Gravitate HR the seminar is for anyone already active in social media but wanting to put a structure in place around its use and for those who are curious and want to know how to get started safely.
