Work Experience Placement - Jennifer Taylor

I have recently spent some time with Gravitate HR doing a week of work experience. On my arrival, all of the staff were very welcoming, and were quick to involve me in the daily goings-on in the company.

I attended an employment law update seminar at Maclay Murray and Spence with Sarah. This was lead by Chris Phillips, Partner and Alan Delaney, Associate who delivered the seminar in a very clear and I found it very interesting. It gave me a great insight into the world of HR and allowed me to experience something very different to anything I have ever done. I also attended a client meeting in which I learned about the appraisal process. I found it very interesting to see the involvement Gravitate have with their clients.

Any questions I had about the company, general questions to do with HR, were fired at the girls, and even when the questions may have been rather silly, the girls filled me in, and I became all the wiser afterwards!

One thing I noticed in particular about the company was the general atmosphere in the office. It was very upbeat and hardworking. The company is very much a team and it was nice to see all the girls bouncing ideas off each other, asking each other’s opinions on certain matters, and working together in some cases.

I have really enjoyed my experience with the company. I feel I have learned a lot about HR and the world of business and have learned some skills which I can now take on to whatever work go into in the future.

So a big thanks to everyone in Gravitate HR for this opportunity!
