Why Gravitate HR?
By the time you have got to reading this section, the chances are that you have decided that you and your business needs some HR Support or you are close to reaching that decision. The next question you need to answer what kind of support do you need. There are a number of options and each has a unique set of features with the associated advantages and disadvantages. Gravitate HR can offer the following features:
- Independence - we are a third party provider of the service that you require. We will deliver the level and quality of service that we agree and as such we are not influcenced by internal politics, empire building or allegiances. We can take an objective stance and give the advice and support that is relevant and appropriate.
- Depth of support - within the team we have a range of experiences and expertise within different sectors and organisational contexts. Therefore when you engage Gravitate HR - you have access to support that spans from the strategic to the administrative which a lone practioner would not be able to offer.
- Continuity of support - we are open 51 weeks of the year and you will receive the agreed level of suport throughout the year. You do not need to cover holidays, sick absence, maternity leave or any other form of absence.
- Ease of management - you do not need to line manage the HR provision. We would have quarterly meetings to determine strategy and tactics for the forthcoming months, agree priorities and action plans, you receive updates and can monitor progress, whilst we deliver.
- Cost - you pay the agreed costs. You are not liable for the employment costs - no NI or PAYE; professional development is delivered within the team. You only pay for the cost of the service delivered directly to you.
- Transfer of learning and expertise - because we work across sectors and are constantly learning and developing, that learning is transfered into your business. We can use all our knowledge and experience gained in the rich tapestry of what we do and apply to projects and challenges in other businesses.
- Enthusiasm - we are passionate about what we do, we love challenge and variety, we are young and growing with lots of energy.
This means that you benefit from
- A team with different skills
- A fresh approach
- Support when you need it
- A competitive cost structure
- Up to date knowledge
- Dedicated account team who understand your business
By comparison
- A telephone based service will give you advice over the phone but will not give you personal eyeball to eyeball support when you really need it.
- A lone practioner will have to cover all bases and may only bring a narrow perspective. They will take holidays and other absences (potentially) and will require line management
- A HR Consultant working alone (usually from home) will have to balance client demands, will have limited contingencies for holidays and other commitments and will only bring their personal expertise.
- A large HR Consultancy may have a cost base which influences their charge out rates which are unaffordable or unsustainable for SMEs.
- Some professional services will be able to interpret regulation and may be able to talk you through a strategy but they are less likely to work with you through practical implementation and follow through.
Each type of HR support has a part to play in different places and in different contexts - the trick is to find the HR service delivery that matches your requirements. If you would like to find out more about what our clients think of our service delivery click here .
