Our newest team member, Sara, reflects on her first few weeks at Gravitate in this latest blog post.
Now that the past four weeks have gone by in a flash and I am starting to get to grips with everything that the organisation does, it is time to tell you all a little bit about myself. I began my HR career straight out of high school as a Modern Apprentice at the Scottish Qualifications Authority, I realised very quickly that I had the potential to do well and requested to spend my two-year contract within that department. After 18 months as a modern apprentice, I was lucky enough to secure a fixed-term position as an HR Assistant within SQA in early 2018. However, as I am very keen on continuing my HR related studies, I decided that a more permanent role would suit me better.
Therefore, when Margery decided I was the right fit for the team I was ecstatic. The thought of going from a large public organisation with 25 team members to a private company with 6 other colleagues was daunting at first, but there was no reason to worry at all! Within the first day of my employment with Gravitate I felt right at home and have so far loved every single minute of my time here. Learning about all of our clients and what they do will take me some time, but having the opportunity to work with different people, organisations, and sectors will benefit me greatly in the long run for any future career prospects. With my current goal being to become an HR Manager within the next 10 years, this fast pace environment is the ideal place to continue my training.
